I just completed writing my own entry for the Minute Mystery Contest.  I’m not voting, (because I’m administering the contest and will see all the other entries) but because I wouldn’t ask you to do something I wouldn’t do myself, I’ve written a story that came out to a little less than four pages of double spaced 12 point type.  It also happens to have 1052 words in it, which for the purposes of this contest is perfectly fine.

As I mentioned on Monday, the 500 to 1000 word count limits of this contest are meant to be APPROXIMATE.  Just try to keep your story somewhere between 2 and 4 double spaced pages.

But don’t cheat yourself by only counting pages either!  If you happen to have a lot of dialogue, your story might go over four pages even though your word count is well under a thousand words!

At the end of this contest I going to distribute a list of mystery publications and encourage all of you to submit your entries for publication.  We have a lot of talent in our group and I want to get it out there – now go write that mystery!

Remember, if you have any questions or need some story ideas you can email me ( William Cherry) at mystery@justinkase.com
